Why Choose This Course

Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt is an instructor-led training course designed to help experienced professionals lead complex improvement projects using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) framework. You’ll learn how to blend Lean principles that remove waste with Six Sigma methods that reduce process variation, and you’ll turn that knowledge into action with practical tools you can apply at work the next day. The curriculum aligns to widely recognised Black Belt bodies of knowledge so you can confidently prepare for leading certification exams while building real problem-solving capability.

Across the program, you’ll deepen your skills in advanced statistics, measurement system analysis, process capability, experimental design, and control planning. In practice, that means you’ll be able to scope high‑value projects, collect and analyse the right data, validate root causes, test improvements, and lock in gains with sustainable controls. The focus is pragmatic: we use clear language, real scenarios, and step‑by‑step methods that translate across industries and functions.

If certification is a goal, the course content maps to the published domains for leading Black Belt credentials so you can study once and benefit twice—skills for today’s role and readiness for the exam pathway you choose. We keep claims balanced and up to date with the official exam blueprints. A certificate of course attendance is included.

Skills Gained

  • Lead DMAIC projects from charter to control using recognised Black Belt methods.
  • Translate customer and business needs into measurable Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements.
  • Build SIPOC diagrams, value stream maps, and process maps to define scope and flow.
  • Plan and execute Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for variable and attribute data.
  • Calculate and interpret process capability indices to assess performance against specifications.
  • Use hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and ANOVA to validate root causes.
  • Apply regression analysis and correlation studies to model relationships among inputs and outputs.
  • Design and analyse experiments (full and fractional factorial) to optimise key factors.
  • Implement Lean tools to remove waste and improve flow (including 5S and error‑proofing concepts).
  • Develop control plans and statistical process control (SPC) charts to sustain improvements.
  • Select and prioritise projects aligned to strategy, and mentor Green Belts and project teams.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Which certification does this course align to?
The content aligns to the published bodies of knowledge for leading Black Belt certifications, including IASSC ICBB and ASQ’s Black Belt, so you can build practical capability and prepare for the exam route you select.
A prior Green Belt is helpful but not mandatory for training. For the IASSC ICBB exam, there are no formal prerequisites to sit the test; ASQ’s Black Belt has experience and project requirements.
Both validate advanced Lean Six Sigma proficiency using DMAIC. IASSC ICBB focuses on a defined body of knowledge with no prerequisite experience to sit the exam, while ASQ requires documented project experience and has a broader leadership and deployment emphasis in its body of knowledge.
